The Thrill of Arena Combat
An arena packed with roaring fans, the battlezone ablaze with lumbering mechanized warriors and the sound of clashing titanium echoing off the walls as wicked ordnance slams into competitors. This is Mech Arena: Robot Showdown, a high-stakes, free-to-play, 5 vs. 5 team battler featuring customizable robots - and it’s finally arriving on PC this summer!
Build Your Perfect Bot
Mech Arena provides players with their own robot hanger to store and tweak up to five combat-ready units before sending them into the fray. Gather blueprints for components and mix and match a wide array of interchangeable parts. Equip and upgrade weapons powered by energy, bullets, fire, explosives, and more. Swap out your bot’s body and chassis based on tactics ranging from speed and handling, to armor and durability. Carefully consider your creation’s power requirements using particular cells to match the configuration you’ve assembled. Make these mechs an extension of your playstyle.
Variety of Objectives
The intense 5-on-5 team battles in Mech Arena come in a number of flavors, including Point Capture and Tournament Deathmatch. As the name implies, Point Capture will have your team carefully securing strategic capture points on the map in missions built around this mode, each location balanced for distance and vantage points, while Tournament Deathmatch will thrust mech combatants into an all-out fragfest for kills and thrills.
Brutal Mechanized Combat
Every match in Mech Arena: Robot Showdown will test your mech’s loadout and perhaps inspire you to make subtle or major adjustments to their designs in your Hanger. One player might dominate with a very lightly-armored, yet incredibly mobile mech configuration, while another could wipe the floor with its enemies using a slower, heavy-duty approach that simply pummels foes and outlasts their offensive output.
The Arena Calls
It’s a great time to check out Mech Arena: Robot Showdown. The free mobile version can be downloaded right now, and it will offer players a good preview of what they can expect in the forthcoming PC edition (although PC players can look forward to a round of graphical improvements, new control options, and smart UI tweaks). The atmosphere around Mech Arena is friendly, and Plarium continues to impress with its support for the game and a regular output of excellent seasonal events.
High Stakes Competition
Mech Arena’s developer, Plarium, is investing plenty of support into the game’s formal Tournament system. With special events themed around holidays and unique concepts, Mech Arena boasts a steady roll-out of dedicated Tournaments for players to partake in for special rewards and global recognition. The game’s maps are specifically designed for tight, high-speed gameplay that keeps players on each other’s heels with few pauses in the action. In fact, a typical match can be over in 5 to 10 minutes, ensuring a steady rotation of participants in every Tournament.
